I’d Like to Be Under the Sea

I was not sold on this dress the instant I saw it at Collabor88. It had to grow on me like tentacles getting a purchase and expanding their hold little by little until their prey is helplessly entangled. I loved the bodice from the instant I saw it with the corseted bodice, the welted seams, the rick-rack trim, the buttons. I was in love. Octopi, though, that took some getting used to. I guess my memories of pulpo en su tinta with my host family in Spain remain fresh after two decades. But really, it’s a cartoon octopus, so I got over it.

I decided to add the fun and playful new pumps from Baiastice. The pumps come in several colors and have a HUD to allow you to change the socks into more than a dozen colors, all in three options, plain, polka dot or ribbed. I chose white and black polka dots because it was more whimsical.

Here’s a closer look at the shoes and the handbag, a separate item that was designed to go with the dress. However, I think it can be worn with other items as the design is sufficiently abstract.

apr28_003Sasy Scarborough has been the busiest manicurist in Second Life these past few weeks. I was blown away by this recent set of Op Art nails. This is Set No. 27, an incredibly exciting set with eight beautiful options.  This is the bag hold Slink hand position. Since SLink made hands that could work with appliers, nails are getting wilder.
